2011 Miss Hong Kong Beauty Pageant

I know I'm a little late, since it's already a few days after the broadcast, but I finally finished watching the 2011 Miss Hong Kong Beauty Pageant! I really enjoyed the ending, which was especially touching. First, each contestant comes out with their mom to talk about how they made such a difference in each other's lives, which made many of the contestants cry. Next, each contestant presents a friendly gift for another contestant that they felt especially attached to during the course of the pageant, which made them cry even more. The last part, however, was what made me cry.
When they were announcing the first place winner, the announcement was not done by a person; it was actually announced by leading the winner's mom to see her daughter and embrace her. What really moved me was the fact that Rebecca Zhu's mother is the first person to tell her that she was the winner, and in my opinion, when it's an event that is really special in their lives, having someone so important to you give you such good news just makes winning that much more meaningful than someone you barely know announcing you're the winner.
