Family Week

My cousins Kenny and Patty came down from New Jersey to visit me for a week! I was extremely excited. They haven't come down to visit my family and me since I was around 10! I always went up to New York to see them and my grandparents. Aside from the fact that I dread in fear that I would not have time to study for my accounting test that was today (Friday), I was really happy to be spending time with them.
They arrived Sunday night (Monday earning morning at around 2AM). Immediately Patty and I bonded where we went up to my room, shut the door, and talked about girl stuff. I've always looked up to her as an older sister figure, so everything she does and says, I remember I would always try to copy her.
We went to the science museum downtown on Monday. It's been so long since I've been there. What really grossed me out was the bug section on the top floor ~_~ cockroaches, gigantic centipedes, and huge green caterpillars were a little too much for me!
Traver traveled downtown to meet them, and they seemed to like him, even though our conversation only lasted a little while before we had to go home for dinner.
Sandy and Emily's family came the next evening! With the exception of Andrew's family and Melissa, most of the cousins were there and it was so much fun! Emily has grown to be really intelligent for a 5 year old and Sandy finally can speak full sentences.
We also went to Lake Johnson to go kayaking and canoeing. It was the first time I ever went and I had a blast ^_^ I saw something floating in the water and it scared the living lights out of me because I thought it was a gator! But later on, we saw something really similar to it and it was actually a paper bag -__-
I wanted to go back so bad that I asked Traver if he can go with me again Tuesday! He agreed to go, but I doubt it'll be actually confirmed because he'll probably forget x_x
Afterwards, I took them to Bojangles for the first time! Even though Patty was extremely health conscious, she ate all of her portions and really liked the ice tea! I was glad they enjoyed it ^_^ During our time at Bojangles, the topic of our family came up, and I was surprised to know that every family has their crazy side and no family's perfect! My brother and I aren't alone! It just seems like Asian families are always the craziest :P
On their last day, we went to IHOP for our last meal together, and spent most of the time gossiping about people we knew. Before we knew it, it was time to say goodbye.
I miss them so much already! I hope to see them again soon!

Break from studying

OMFG I SOOO needed a break from studying for my M110 computer proficiency test. I've been studying for nearly 7 hours straight, and my head was experiencing that compressed feeling which I get whenever I feel stressed. Blogging's the PERFECT form of relaxation for me.
Hm... what to blog about today...?
I know! Fayettevilleee
the city I grew up in.
As I was growing up, I never really thought of Fayetteville as a bad place to live in. From what I was told by my friends who were less fortunate, I lived in a safer and cleaner neighborhood than they did where there was much less crime. I had barely any problems making friends and was the top of my class beginning in elementary school. Elementary school was a great place for me. Middle school sure was not. That was where I realized how corrupted half of the city was. The children were pretty bad kids that didn't care much about school. I still managed to make friends who are now like brothers and sisters to me (Megan, Nicole, Jenny, Tia, Jeremy, and a few others). We literally grew up around each other and experienced similar situations at Byrd.
It wasn't until I left Fayetteville did I realize how much I was missing out on. Fayetteville wasn't a great place to live in; in fact, it was ranked the 3rd worst city to raise a family due to its crime rate.
I had many things stolen from me in school. I also had many rude things said about me in school when I never disrespected anybody. This comes with being in school, but when you see your family members being made fun of by GROWN ADULTS, how does that make you feel? Yes, they were racial slurs. I learned to take it in and tolerate it. My father and brother knew how to make these people shut up and listen.
I regretted not obeying my dad when he told me I should have waited before finding boyfriends. I dated someone absolutely horrible for me in high school. He was a selfish person who didn't know the meaning of "no" or "too much". I never did anything wrong to him, yet nothing I ever did was enough for this self-absorbed jerk. One bad relationship came after another, to where my second boyfriend merely pretended to understand me as a person until I left for college. After hearing from my best friends about the things that he said to them after my breakup, I was shocked to have ever dated a guy that I thought would have never acted so disrespectful and ignorant. Whether it was merely that person's stupidity or the fact that I really was being targeted emotionally, it was clear to me that not many people are worth keeping in touch with when all they ever did was take advantage of you.
I'm really glad I left Fayetteville.
For those who are fortunate enough to make it to a different city, be it Charlotte, Chapel Hill, or Raleigh, or even out of state, I applaud you. Life can only get better for you from here.

Before I leave

I seem to always be writing in this whenever I'm procrastinating.
Today's post is fully dedicated to the love of my life, Traver Mayfield. If it's too mushy for you, then stop reading it!
Haha.

So last night, our conversation was like this:
"Do you know why you like me?"
"Yeah, I'm already sure of why I like you."
"Do you ever wonder why I like you?"
"Yeah, I do."
I started listing all the things that make him more amazing than any guy I've dated, and started listing everything I like about him, but he just fell asleep while I was listing x_x

I keep almost crying whenever we say bye to each other after hanging out. I'm scared that he wouldn't want to be with me once we both leave for our jobs. I'm not free to be happy with whoever I want to be with, since my parents are so traditional, but I feel I'm happiest with him.
He's so carefree in how he talks to me. He never hides anything. If he's angry, he shows and tells why. He doesn't get crazy jealous because he knows others don't stand a chance. We all have bad habits and bad traits. While others hide them, he shows them because he has nothing to hide as a person. If he makes a mistake, he doesn't try to hide it. Whatever embarrassing thing he does just makes him more human and a lot of the times more adorable. His favorite pasttimes aren't even embarrassing; no silly online game that causes him to sit at a computer for hours to make him fat. He loves exercising and sports. He tells me whatever is on his mind, and he's driven in the things he does. I never feel suffocated either.

I don't ever want this to end.

My Sister's Wedding, Bin's House

I'm so behind on updating! I've been so busy with school and weekend events that I haven't had the time to update when I really really wanted to, because one weekend is very special, and the other one really spontaneous! Megan and Traccie's wedding and Bin's house!

May 28th was the celebration of my sister's wedding. It was a very special day where my best friend since sixth grade and a close friend of mine are joined together in marital union, and I could not be happier for them! I was honored that Megan wanted me to be a part of such a big day for her as a bridesmaid, and I wish her nothing but the best for her and Traccie's future!
My family left Friday on May 27th for Myrtle Beach to get a head start, also so they can also have a little break from the boring house life. Who knew that it was also Biker weekend, so we didn't get any peace at all!??
But Saturday was the big day! I almost had a scare because Nicole was almost late, and she sent me a text to fill in her place as maid of honor, which scared the shiz out of me!! I ran in the chapel panicking, but thank goodness Nicole made it! Jess, the other bridesmaid, was a little late, but it didn't matter because in the pictures we were all perfectly lined up!
After the wedding, Jess, Mitch, Kaleb, and I went to the beach for a little bit because we had some time to kill. We then went to an Italian restaurant for the reception. Yay for yummy free food! Traccie also got Megan to dance! She never danced much, so it was nice seeing her relax and enjoy herself!
I never knew the day would come! My sister all grown up and married! I used to think we would be young forever! But one of us is all grown up now! Sniff sniff!

The next weekend was the weekend of Bin's house. He lived in the outer banks, so Nate, Ashley, Erica, and I drove to his house (4 hours!!) to stay there for a weekend. Crystal's brother Will was there too, and he prevented me from drowning on my way to and from a sand bar!

Wow, it took me forever to update! I was working on this for quite awhile but wasn't able to finish it til after school ended!

Virginia and Washington D.C

This past weekend I went to Virginia with Traver to visit his family and tour Washington D.C! His family was very hospitable, and the guestroom I stayed in was very lovely!
Traver and I went up Thursday night, woke up Friday morning, and went to D.C to tour the city. We took the subway to different places, from the lame Chinatown (it really was that lame as Adrienne told me haha), to the historical buildings and monuments, to Koreatown (both our favorites!)
For lunch, we went to a small Indian restaurant that has a buffet. The food was authentic and spicy! I tried to finish two plates, but it was too much for me! Same with Traver too! We walked outside to a bench and rested for 30 minutes because we were too full to walk x_x. I even felt heartburn from it!

The Korean restaurant we stopped at for dinner was called Honey Pig (weird name, I know) had really good food! It was also pretty decently priced too! MUCH better than Seoul Garden! We weren't even finished with our food and our stomachs hurt from being so full!

Here's some sappy stuff, so if anyone wants to skip reading this, I understand! :P
From my weekend with Traver, I realized something that I never did before: Finding the right person isn't about finding others' definition of perfection; it's about finding the perfect person for you. And when you find that person and get to know that person inside and out, you can see how well you both match.
Traver's like a puzzle piece that's been made just for me; he matches me perfectly. He may not be everyone's ideal perfect guy; his temper can rival that of my dad's, he's late to dates, and he's pissed me off to no end on more than one occasion. But one thing he's been able to do that no one else has been able to do for me was to keep me happy and on my toes! I have honestly never felt joy like this before in my life. He's only himself around me, and he accepts me for myself. More than once, he has asked if his less attractive traits have led me to love him less, and my reply was "I love everything about you, even your faults."

OOH Update on how my grades are!
I suck at physics, and I suck at chemistry, but from my last grade in my chemistry lab, I can write pretty beast lab reports! Heckz yeah, a 91! heehee ^_^

Shopping

My favorite pasttime is shopping. It's not a healthy pasttime, aside from the mass amount of walking. It does improve my mood in many ways though!
Today I went to my apartment to start packing my things up to get ready to move back into my parents' house. I'll miss having my own place, since I had more freedom, but nothing beats free food!
After packing for about an hour, Traver came to pick me up to go to the mall. It was unbelievably quiet, and there weren't a lot of people. Must have been because it was a Tuesday and everyone was either still at work or in school.
I bought William a Kirby shirt from Hot Topic for his birthday, and bought myself a tote bag from American Eagle Outfitters and some good smelling stuff from Bath and Body Works. I felt bad finding out that Traver was tired sleepy, so I made him sit while I walked around each store. Sadly he had to go back to work at 6. My poor Travy :( I hope he gets a lot of rest tonight!

Shopping really did improve my mood. I was getting irritated because I beat Final Fantasy 9, and I watched all the t.v shows I could, and am practically done with all my summer work for school, so I was at home doing nothing. I'm not used to doing nothing... At college I would always be either hanging out with friends or doing schoolwork. Walking around was definitely a breath of fresh air for me.
I wish William were still here so we can go bargain hunting. He went to TJ Maxx last week while I was still at school, and now he's off on a school trip.
Well, pretty soon, I'll have stuff to do too! I'll be going to D.C with Traver and Adrienne, then to Bin's house to the Outer Banks with Nate and Ashley! I can't wait!

[edit]

Oh man, I realized how long it's been since I've updated this thing! I must update it with some...CUTENESS OVERLOAD! Hahaha nah, it's more of just a photoshoot I did with Traver for Si to help him with expanding his photography skills. It actually turned out okay, except for a few where I looked fat. I'll post a few pics on here:

Si did a pretty awesome job at taking pictures!! This can be his advertisement, heehee ^_^

From Last Friday til Now... because I procrastinated

Grr I'm so angry with myself... I was planning on using this time before my 9 AM class to type up the notes for my marketing project... but my notebook is NOT in my bookbag!
Oh nevermind I found it... hahaha. Well since it's I'm already typing, might as well finish! I shall edit later!

So Friday night I went out to the KSA mixer with Adrienne because I promised her I would, even though I was a little skeptic about going. We met up with Nate, Bin, Lee, and Si, and that was pretty much who we were with the whole night. Adrienne ordered a rum and coke for me and I paid for both our drinks because I didn't have cash, and she paid for me to get in. I'm not a heavy drinker at all, so that small little drink actually made my face turn pink and stagger around for about an hour until the alcohol wore off. I did NOT embarrass myself though! That I'm proud of!
The night was overall pretty fun, but sooo overwhelming because of this tight circle I was in the whole night. Whenever I wanted to move out of the circle of Nate, Bin, and Lee to rest or get some fresh air, I would immediately get pulled back in.

I went home and slept for a few hours, then woke up to go to Habitat for Humanity to support Casey in ASA. It was actually REALLY FUN! I loved loved loved working for them! Pulling all the nails out of each wooden board reminded me so much of face extraction that I found it very satisfying, haha! (I used to want to be a dermatologist!) Maybe I should go to more! ^_^

On to this past Wednesday: My group and I started our bleaching lab in PSE. Everything was going smoothly until I spilled a bit of the chemicals outside of the bag of pulp that I was pouring into! Ahh, I felt so bad! They had to recalculate all the numbers we already did so that we can pour in whatever I spilled on the floor! I still felt so embarrassed! Later on, Thursday at Morgan's Birthday Dinner, Chris was talking about how much he hates his partner from a previous class because that guy broke the project. I immediately related it to myself and how clumsy I was and how I messed up and let three people down!

Well earlier Thursday, I spent 4 hours searching up on chemistry problems online in order to do well on my quiz, which had only one question. I was determined to get it right because I've been doing SO HORRIBLE in my chemistry class! I don't understand how I can not be good at it when I actually enjoy it! But anyway, I studied my butt off on that ONE SMALL QUESTION and I GOT A 100%! My very first one in that class!!!!!
Afterwards, I got really hungry while waiting on my Physics tutor, so I bought a meal and was eating til he came. I gave him half of my meal because I felt it would not be wise to eat so much before I meet up with Sandra for dinner. After dinner with Sandra, I made my way to Morgan's birthday dinner. THAT'S THREE DINNERS IN ONE NIGHT! I've only ever done this once before in the wintertime during hibernation season! hahaha.

Hm. Well today's Friday. I hope to get at least some work done, and I hope to not let my lab partners down today!
